Learn Mobile Robotics
Discover the world of mobile robots - how they move, how they interact with the world, and how to build them! This is a FREE online session for the month of June 2-29, 2014. Yes I am enrolled to take part of the action.
From the surface of Mars to your living room floor, mobile robots can be found in some surprising places. Together we’ll explore how and why. We’ll look at how robots move, how they sense the world around them and how they make decisions. Then we’ll put all this together and apply what we’ve learned to build our own mobile robot.
Here's the link to enroll.

Sand Flea Jumping Robot
Sand Flea is an 11-lb robot with one trick up its sleeve: Normally it drives like an RC car, but when it needs to it can jump 30 feet into the air. An onboard stabilization system keeps it oriented during flight to improve the view from the video uplink and to control landings. Current development of Sand Flea is funded by the The US Army's Rapid Equipping Force. For more information visit www.BostonDynamics.com.
Marco Tempest: Maybe the best robot demo ever
Marco Tempest uses charming stagecraft to demo EDI, the multi-purpose robot designed to work very closely with humans. Less a magic trick than an intricately choreographed performance, Tempest shows off the robot's sensing technology, safety features and strength, and makes the case for a closer human-robot relationship. (Okay, there's a little magic, too.)

Candy.zone
I'm so excited to announce my new investment, e.g. Candy.zone Candy Online Store.
It's an opportunity to own a generic keyword domain name with the new .Zone domain extension. When I found out about the availability of a new domain extension, my entrepreneur mindset kicks in. I registered some generic keyword domains at low cost ownership for personal and business use. For example, I replaced my robotic web page from http://robot.emie.com to http://Robot.Guru it is a memorable and intuitive domain names relevant to my site.
With Candy.zone domain name, now I have a Candy Online Store powered by Amazon services. In the future, I might be able to use this online web store to sell our own Candy products. Right now it is ready to sell you some candies. Come visit the Candy.zone Candy Online Store.
This is an excellent opportunity to get something new for your business. If you like your current domain name for your website, that's ok. You can forward your new generic keyword domain name to your current website. Find out your business keywords at NeedName.com today before someone get it. The Domains.Guru website provides additional information about the new domain, new opportunities, and watch the informational video to learn more.

Eddie Robot replaced by Arlo Robotic Platform System.
I've checked my favorite robotics supplier/maker Parallax and found out that Eddie Robotics Platform is
now retired and replaced by Arlo Robotic. Please see captured screen page.
It is sad, the Eddie robotic platform is a great way to start your mini robotic project. I have one, and having fun learning the software and the robotic hardware part of it.
At this time, I will continue to use MS RDS and Eddie Robot for my weekend project.
I am also starting to read/learn Robot Operating System (ROS) open source of software libraries and tools. Their official website is www.ros.org.

SkyDrive is now OneDrive
Microsoft formally changed SkyDrive to OneDrive. I've checked my personal account, it is now called OneDrive. And I received emails from Microsoft confirming the changed.
"Welcome to OneDrive, the one place to store and share your photos, videos, documents and other files-anywhere, on any device, free. Over the next few months, you may continue to see both SkyDrive and OneDrive throughout your experience, but don't worry! You'll still be able to access all of your files during the transition. OneDrive is everything you love about SkyDrive and more.
One place for all your photos and videos
Automatically capture and store your favorite photos and videos from your phone so you can get them from all your devices and easily share the ones you want.
One place for all your documents
Create and edit important Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote documents, store them all in one place, and access them on any device.
One place for all your devices
Access your OneDrive files from just about any device including PCs, tablets, Macs, Windows Phones, iPhones, Android devices, and more.
See what else OneDrive can do
Take a tour of the great new features in OneDrive and find out why it's the one place to store and share all of your favorite things." (Microsoft Email Announcement)
